The Advanced Technician in Automotive Technology is a key professional in an increasingly technological and mobility-dependent industry. Their work includes diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults, as well as performing preventive maintenance to extend the life of vehicles.

The training, which lasts two years and comprises 1,620 hours, also covers the handling of advanced electronic systems and the development of communication skills to explain technical matters clearly and professionally

  • Volume 9: Vehicle maintenance management and logistics
  • Volume 10: Communication and interpersonal techniques
  • Volume 11: Work training and career guidance
  • Volume 12: Business and entrepreneurial initiative

  • Unit 2: Electric vehicle systems
  • Unit 3: Configuration of electric and hybrid vehicles

Enrollment requirements 

There are no prior requirements to take this course. However, to take the official state exam, requirements do exist.

According to Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which regulates the Vocational Training System, to take the free exams you must meet the following requirements:

  • Age requirement: Must be at least 20 years old.
  • Academic requirement (at least one of the following):
  • Vocational Training Intermediate Level, Plastic Arts and Design, or High School Diploma
  • Vocational Training Advanced Level
  • High School Diploma
  • University degree
  • Completed a specific preparatory course for access to Higher Vocational Training cycles
  • Passed the access test for Higher Vocational Training cycles or the university entrance test for people over 25
  • Completed a Grade C training offer included in the training cycle

Since the exam is regional, each organizing body may set additional requirements. These serve as general guidance but may vary depending on the region or exam call. This course prepares for obtaining the official title through free exams.
