What does the A LEVEL exam preparation course at Instituto Hispánico consist of?

It is based on the intensive Spanish course 20 where we add 5 specific lessons per week. The main content and objectives of these classes are the assimilation of grammatical and vocabulary structures through specific exercises and the improvement of speaking skills where you will develop your judgement by expressing your opinion through presentations and debates.

Please note that a minimum of 3 students is required for this course. In any case, if this condition is not met, we recommend you take an Intensive Spanish course of 20 lessons per week and book some individual hours with a specialist A Level teacher to work with you on specific topics, specific needs and to prepare you for the exam.

On the other hand, we have also organised courses with specific content, topics and duration for school groups. In fact, every year we receive different groups of students from British schools for this purpose.

How much does the A LEVEL exam preparation course at Instituto Hispánico cost?

Don't know what the A LEVEL exam is?

Advanced level qualifications are known as A Levels and are subject-based qualifications that can lead to university, further study or work. You can usually study three or more A Levels over two years. They are usually assessed by a series of exams.

The Spanish bachillerato is the post-16 stage of education in Spain, comparable to the A Levels / Higher (Scottish) in the UK, the French baccalaureate in France or the international baccalaureate.

What does this course offer?

This course offers an excellent opportunity for you to prepare for the A Level exam. The course will focus on the key topics of the exam, and will provide you with a thorough understanding of the concepts and skills needed, not only to pass, but to score well in the exam.

We will also give you the opportunity to practise with real exam questions so that you can familiarise yourself with the format and content of the exam. In addition, our teachers will give you tips and strategies to help you maximise your performance in the exam. And we’ll do a final assessment to help you evaluate your progress and preparation for the exam.

Why choose the Instituto Hispánico de Murcia to prepare for this exam?

The director of this Spanish course, a former Cambridge & Oxford Board examiner, has developed this programme to meet the specific needs of A Level students of Spanish under the different examining boards in the UK.

It is important to highlight the experience and qualifications of our native teachers in teaching Spanish and preparing for A LEVEL exams, although we offer a personalised educational programme adapted to the needs of each student or each school group with the possibility of obtaining good grades.

Are there exam resources that will help me successfully pass the exam?

In addition to enrolling in this course, where we will give you specific tools and techniques to tackle the exam successfully, consult your doubts with our teachers and take advantage of your stay in Murcia by staying with a host family to prepare for the exam, we recommend these resources:

Television

See the latest news in Spanish http://www.rtve.es, or even the weather forecast http://www.rtve.es/eltiempo . Enjoy culinary delights with MasterChef in Spanish http://www.rtve.es/television/masterchef or any sport. And you can also watch some cartoons in Spanish with your little brother; you can both learn some Spanish http://www.rtve.es/infantil

Platforms such as HBO, Netflix, Disney+,…

Here you can watch Spanish films and series and the subtitles will help you to expand your vocabulary.

Radio

The good thing about listening to the radio is that you can do something else at the same time, like… tidy your room?

  • Radio 1 (Radio Nacional) is RNE’s general radio station. Its programmes reach all audiences. News, entertainment, culture, sports…
  • Radio 3 is the station that young people listen to. It is set up like Radio 1 or Capital FM and also has music videos and interviews. Also, if you like 80s music, try listening to M80.
  • Radio 5 is the radio station dedicated to the world of current affairs, with news 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

There are various websites and online resources offering study and practice materials for the A Level Spanish exam, such as videos, interactive activities and grammar and vocabulary exercises, and even the official website of the Instituto Cervantes itself.

And very importantly, it is crucial that you bear in mind that in Murcia there are very few people who speak English, which means that you will have many more opportunities to practice and improve your Spanish in everyday situations. As the saying goes, “practice makes perfect”, right?

Our students are satisfied with their learning experience with us, as shown by the highly favourable opinions they have shared on our social networks and website.

Also, our independent Google reviews show that we have received an exceptionally high rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars from our international students.
