What it is for

What can you work as with a vocational qualification in administration?

Every company needs someone to look after its accounts, its contracts and its dealings with the public administration. This is work that exists in every sector and in every city.

Accounts administrator

Company accounting and tax work, keeping up with current regulations.

Finance administrator

Treasury, payment collection and feasibility studies for investments.

Sales administrator

Orders, customers and sales follow-up.

Human resources administrator

Contracts, staff and document management.

Administrator in banking and insurance

Branch offices, payment collection and customer service.

Administrator in consultancy firms

Legal, accounting, employment or tax practices.

These are roles in companies of any size and sector, public or private, and there is also the option of working as a self-employed professional, running a consultancy or administrative services business. Posts in the public sector are subject to the access requirements set by law.

What we offer

The administration programmes you can study

An official qualification from the Spanish education system, with work placements in companies and validity throughout the European Union.
Advanced Level
Business Administration

Administration and Finance

It is the most transferable training of all: what you learn works just as well in a factory, in a professional practice or in an office dealing with the public.

Before you choose

Here everything is Advanced Level: what that means for you

There is no level to choose. Administration is studied at Advanced Level, so you come in with an officially recognised Bachillerato (upper secondary education) or an equivalent qualification. And if you do not have one, that does not leave you out either.
You have a Bachillerato

The route is direct

  • With a Bachillerato officially recognised in Spain, you go straight into the programme, with no entrance exam. As the recognition process can take several months, it is best to start the paperwork as early as possible.

  • What exactly is required, and how is a Bachillerato officially recognised? → Advanced Level requirements

You do not have one

You can come in through an Intermediate Level programme

  • The Technician qualification from an Intermediate Level programme gives access to Advanced Level with no further entrance exams. It is a longer route, but you finish it holding two official qualifications.

  • How is your secondary school qualification officially recognised, and what documents are needed? → Intermediate Level requirements

Not sure whether your qualification can be officially recognised? Send us a photo of it and we will tell you before you start any paperwork.

Starting from scratch

And what if you do not speak Spanish yet?

That is not a problem. You do not need to know any Spanish to join the programme. You will start with a six-month intensive course at our school in Murcia, accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, where you will go from a beginner level up to B1.2–B2.1. After that you will start your vocational training programme.

Administrative work is language: contracts, invoices, emails and dealing with clients and with the public administration, all in Spanish. That is why the programme starts with the language.

Why the qualification matters here

Here, the qualification is what lets you handle the figures

A company’s accounting and tax work is done under specific regulations and carries legal responsibility. Companies do not put those processes in the hands of someone who cannot prove they have been trained, however much experience that person has.

When you complete the programme you will hold the official qualification that certifies that knowledge, valid throughout the European Union.

What that means for you

A qualification that is asked for everywhere

Administrative posts exist in private companies, in consultancy firms and in the public administration, where access is subject to the legal requirements in force. If you obtained your vocational qualification in Spain, it has the same value as that of any other holder. There is no separate category of qualification for being a foreign national.

BEFORE YOU START

Spanish and the visa

These are the two steps before the programme. We cover both of them with you.

STEP 1

Six months of Spanish

The programmes are taught in Spanish, with Spanish classmates and teachers. That is why the programme starts with the language: six months of intensive course at our school in Murcia, accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, from zero up to the level you need in order to follow a vocational programme, with an exam at the end.

If you already have a certified DELE B2, you skip this stage and go straight into the programme.

STEP 2

Student visa

Being enrolled at a school accredited by the Instituto Cervantes allows you to apply for the visa. The language is not just the language: it is the key to the paperwork.

We guide you through the documentation — admission letter, enrolment and health insurance — the points where most applications are refused because the paperwork was not properly presented.

If you come from the EU, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you do not need a visa.

Would you rather not deal with the paperwork?

We offer an optional external professional service that handles the whole application for you. It is voluntary: you can do it yourself or request this service.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The questions we are asked most about administration

Do I need to know accounting before I start?

No. The programme starts with company documentation and basic business processes, and goes as far as accounting, tax and financial management.

Is it useful in any sector?

Yes. It is one of the most transferable programmes there is: people work in companies of any size and sector, and also as self-employed professionals.

Are the work placements in real companies?

Yes, in companies that have a formal agreement with the centre, and they are often the way in to a first contract when you finish.

Will the qualification be useful in my country when I go back?

The qualification is official and is recognised throughout the European Union. If you want to work in a country outside the EU, its validity will depend on the regulations and the recognition agreements of that country.

Who we are

Students who arrived without a word of Spanish

Since the year 2000, 9.403 students have studied with us, most of them from the Maghreb, West Africa and much of Europe, and nearly all of them started the same way: without knowing how to say hello. You learn through immersion and in small groups, in a city where living costs little and you practise Spanish from day one.

Hi everyone! It's my turn to share my wonderful and exceptional experience at Instituto Hispánico de Murcia. To begin with, I’d like to highlight the atmosphere inside the classrooms. It is fun, highly motivating, and on a completely whole new level that makes learning so easy, using modern teaching methods and digital tools. As for the teachers, they are highly experienced. I would like to take this opportunity to special thank Teresa and Javier, who accompanied me on my 8-month learning journey... guys, you put in even more effort than I did! All the teachers put in an incredible amount of effort to help everyone learn and convey ideas in every possible way. The same goes for the rest of the team, from the reception to the director, Felipe. They always ensure everyone's comfort and have helped me since the very beginning of this journey. They even lent me a helping hand after my studies ended to help me pursue my educational path here. Everyone's treatment was fantastic, without exception. They made us feel as if we were at home in a truly family-like environment, which helped me make friends with students from all over the world. On top of all that, I cannot forget the cultural activities and trips to the city's most famous landmarks, which were the best way to get to know the local culture and integrate quickly. As for the city of Murcia, what can I say! It’s a city where you feel authenticity and cultural richness in every corner. Its festivals give it a wonderful vibrancy, and the locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. A word of advice for anyone reading my review in the future! If you want to learn Spanish and live an unforgettable experience, I recommend Instituto Hispánico de Murcia 100%. All the best to you all!

t's more than just a school. It's a wonderful place where teachers are there to guide you through your studies. This allows you to progress incredibly quickly. Great teachers can make you want to immerse yourself in Spanish, even after you've left the classroom. They'll tell you which Spanish books to read, what music to listen to, and what films to watch. These recommendations make it not only enjoyable but also a valuable support in your language learning. Teresa is the best language teacher I have ever had. She is absolutely professional and loves teaching. Besides she knows modern Spanish culture very well. Is is very helpful for students. And she is very warm i nice person. After my course I have a great motivaton for learning.

Good morning. I have successfully completed the A1 level course at your institute. I found it very beneficial; the teachers were excellent, effectively explaining the grammar and fundamentals of this level. I would like to express my special thanks to the administrative staff for their attention, and a particular thank you to Professor Yahya. I look forward to continuing my studies at all levels with you. Thank you all so much for everything. 💥💯🙏 B. Bouchra.
