How it works

Two stages, one single programme

First the Spanish language, then your programme. If you already have a certified level of Spanish, you start directly at stage 2.
Stage 1 · 6 months, in Murcia only

Spanish course

  • You start from zero and finish at level B1.2 – B2.1
  • A school accredited by the Instituto Cervantes: it allows you to apply for a student visa
  • A level exam at the end, confirming that you can go on to the vocational programme
  • March → August
It is compulsory, unless you already have a certified DELE B2. In that case, this stage is not necessary.
Stage 2 · 1.5 – 2 years, at a partner centre

Your vocational programme

  • Choose your official programme from a range of professional areas
  • In Murcia, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia or Seville
  • Real work placements in companies, often the way in to a first contract
  • An exclusive 30%/40% discount for arranging your enrolment through us
  • September → June
Do you already have the DELE B2? You go straight into your programme, with the same exclusive 30%/40% discount. Choose your programme →
Before you decide

Vocational training or university?

If your aim is to enter the job market soon with hands-on training, vocational training is the better option. If you are looking for an academic career or a regulated profession, your path is university.
Vocational training

To start working sooner

  • Over 40% of job vacancies in Spain ask for vocational training graduates
  • Work placements in companies from the first year
  • It lasts 1.5 – 2 years
  • Sectors in demand: healthcare, IT, business administration, emergency services, hospitality
  • You can go on to university afterwards, if you change your mind
  • Lower cost and a faster return on your investment
University

For academic careers

  • More theoretical, academic training
  • Essential for regulated professions: medicine, law, architecture
  • It lasts 4 years at least
  • It opens the door to research and senior management
  • More competition and less immediate entry into the job market
Is university your path? We also prepare you for the Spanish university entrance exams for international students (Selectividad, PCE)

Frequently asked questions

What does the Spanish + Vocational Training programme involve?

Three things: a Spanish course (6 months, compulsory unless you already have a certified DELE B2) + an official vocational training programme (1.5 or 2 years) + real work placements in companies, often the way in to a first contract.

What level of Spanish do I need to start?

None. The course is designed so that you start from zero and reach B1.2 – B2.1 before beginning your vocational programme in September. If you already have a certified DELE B2, you skip the Spanish language course, go straight into your programme and keep the 30%/40% discount.

Will I get an enrolment certificate for my visa?

Yes, two: one from the Instituto Hispánico de Murcia and one from the vocational training centre. With them you can apply for your student visa.

Can I apply for a student visa with this programme?

Yes. The Instituto Hispánico de Murcia is accredited by the Instituto Cervantes and these courses are officially recognised for applications for a student visa and for arraigo social (residence on the grounds of social ties). We help you with the paperwork throughout the process; the decision always rests with the Spanish authorities.

Can I study the vocational programme in a city other than Murcia?

The Spanish course is taught in Murcia only. You can take the vocational programme in Murcia, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia or Seville, depending on the programme you choose.
