Spain is renowned worldwide for famous players such as Manolo Santana, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Conchita Martínez, Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, Nicolás Almagro, Garbiñe Muguruza, Carlos Alcaraz and, of course, Rafael Nadal, who have made Spanish tennis stand out all over the world for many years.
We offer tennis lessons at Murcia Club de Tenis – founded in 1919 – to complement your intensive Spanish course. Tennis lessons will allow you to experience the passion and power that characterises this sport as an important part of Spanish culture. Our teaching methods, tailor-made for each student, will make your learning process effective and fun.
In the mornings you will attend an intensive Spanish course with other international students. All levels are available, from beginners to advanced.
After lunch you will go to the tennis school and have 2 hours of tennis lessons every day with a professional.
Come to Murcia to improve your Spanish fluency and become the next Rafael Nadal!
What does the Spanish and tennis course offer?
You will have the opportunity to learn Spanish through fun and interactive lessons, as well as practice tennis with professional coaches.
This combination of activities will allow you to improve your language and sports skills, as well as enjoying a unique experience. Playing sport gives you the opportunity to use the language in a real-life situation, which is not always possible in a classroom.
The course also offers you the opportunity to meet other students from all over the world and share experiences. These will help you develop social and communication skills, as well as broaden your horizons.
We organise Spanish classes in small groups of up to 10 students to encourage a great mix of students with the same level of Spanish.
What are the tennis lessons like?
Our tennis coaches teach on a one-to-one basis. Training sessions begin with warm-up and stretching exercises, and cover a variety of skills and tactics appropriate to each player’s level, with plenty of opportunities for competitive matches in addition to coaching.
The excellent sports facilities offered by the Murcia Tennis Club make it an ideal location for this course, offering many practice areas and a wide range of fitness equipment.
If for some reason (incompatibility of schedules, instructors not available, busy courts,…) it is not possible to take tennis lessons at this club, we will offer you the possibility to take them at the Olimpic Club de Murcia.
What does this course include and how much does it cost?
The one-week course includes 20 Spanish lessons and 10 personalised sessions with a professional tennis coach from Monday to Friday, court rental, changing rooms and showers. You will also have access to the gym. The course does not include sports equipment or travel to the tennis club. The Spanish lessons will take place in our school and the tennis lessons will be on the open court.
The price per week for this course is €549. Don’t forget that there is a one-off registration fee of €39, and a package of two books (Spanish class book and exercise book) for €37 including tax.
And remember that both the Spanish lessons and the tennis lessons are in Spanish. How else are you going to learn our beautiful language?
Who can apply for this Spanish course?

What are the benefits of combining sport and study?
Sport can help you improve your language skills, and language skills can help you improve your sporting performance. They go hand in hand.
Learning a language and playing a sport have many advantages. In addition to improving physical and mental health, practising a sport also fosters discipline, concentration and teamwork. Combining both activities provides an enriching and fun experience, which contributes to personal development.
Also, studying sport and language together will help you to better understand the culture of the sport you are studying and will also give you new opportunities to participate in sport.
Why choose the Spanish and tennis course in Murcia?
The Spanish and tennis course in Murcia offers a unique experience for those who want to improve their Spanish while enjoying a sporting environment.
At Instituto Hispánico de Murcia it is clear to us that there is a clear connection between sport and language learning. To learn a foreign language you need to be able to communicate with other people and this is something that can be done more easily if you are involved in sport. And we firmly believe that playing sport gives you the opportunity to use the language in a real-life situation, which is not always possible in a classroom.
Also, we know that sport also improves your memory, which is important when learning new words and phrases. When playing sport, your mind is focused on the task at hand and you are not thinking about anything else. This means you can concentrate better and remember information more easily.
Last but not least, we believe that sport helps you to boost your confidence. If you feel nervous about using a foreign language, doing some physical activity will help calm your nerves.
