An online Summer Camp? Yes, it may sound crazy, but if you’re looking for an exciting way to spend your summer while connecting with fellow youth from around the world without leaving home, our online summer camp is the perfect choice for you.
During this programme you will be immersed in a virtual experience that combines fun and educational activities, Spanish classes and the opportunity to share experiences and conversations with Spanish and Mexican host families.

ONLINE SUMMER CAMP
- Levels: from A1 to C1
- Participants: max. 10
- A 3 hour daily schedule sample:
- Spanish lesson based on your level (45 minutes)
- Tailor made activities focused on general culture (45 minutes)
- Meeting your Spanish host family. Learn to cook Spanish tapas, paella, gazpacho, guacamole, … and be part of a Spanish or Mexican host family (45 minutes)
- Meet & greet Spanish students. Enjoy a relaxed chat with native Spanish speakers of your same age (45 minutes)
Instituto Hispánico de Murcia organised this original initiative during the pandemic and lockdown with notable success among, mainly, North American schools and we want to continue offering it to all those students of Spanish who do not have the possibility of travelling to Spain and who want to make the most of the summer in a different way.
One of the main benefits of our online summer camp is that you can participate from anywhere in the world. All you need is an internet connection and a device to get online. Whether you are at home, visiting relatives or on holiday, you can enjoy a summer camp full of adventure and fun.
What does this virtual summer camp provide?
Our online summer camp offers a wide variety of activities focused on the interests of the participants. For three hours a day, you will be immersed in a world of Spanish with games, arts, music, science, technology and much more.
In addition to fun activities, our online summer camp also offers Spanish classes, which is a great opportunity to improve your language skills and learn about the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. Our Spanish teachers are native speakers and highly trained to help you improve your listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary.
Another great advantage of our online summer camp is the opportunity to share experiences and conversations with Spanish and Mexican host families. During the programme, you will have the opportunity to interact with a host family, which will allow you to learn more about the Hispanic culture and lifestyle.
In addition, you will be able to share your experiences and conversations with other participants, which will help you create lasting friendships and broaden your horizons.

What sets this camp apart from others?
Instead of children just watching the screen, this initiative offers interactive programmes and activities, as well as an opportunity to learn Spanish. Participants can choose from a range of activities, from learning how to cook paella to, for example, a two-day treasure hunt.
Students will also connect with their peers and with Spanish and Mexican host families. Our aim is to build a fully virtual global community where participants can enrich, play and learn from each other.
Our online summer camp is mainly conducted on platforms such as AnyMeeting or Zoom. The classes are structured according to the interests of the students because they are specific and personalised. In fact, we only accept a maximum of 10 participants per camp.

What activities are planned for the participants during the camp?
Depending on their needs, they will be able to design worlds, create stories, know how to act in case of difficulty, build adventure maps, enhance their ways of participating, and much more. Remember that the aim is for them to speak Spanish and to do activities according to their level of knowledge of the language.
In addition, they will make new friends from Spain and other parts of the world who will join this programme, and learn important skills, such as:

What kinds of virtual summer camps are available, and when do they take place?
All our camps have a minimum duration of two weeks, from Monday to Friday, a total of 36 hours, and participants can register for as many as they wish.
The dates for the 2024 camps are as follows:
- from 17 to 28 June
- from 1 to 12 July
- from 15 to 26 July
- from 29 July to 09 August
- from 12 to 23 August
We offer 3 different types of camps, depending on the age of the participants:
For teenagers (age 14-18)
You can book as many camps as you want.
Schedule:
- EUROPEAN STUDENTS: from 11.00 h to 14.00 h UTC+1 (Madrid time).
- AMERICAN STUDENTS: from 17.00 h to 20.00 h UTC+1 (Madrid time).
- ASIAN STUDENTS: from 08.00 h to 11.00 h UTC+1 (Madrid time).

It is important to note that groups at our camps must have a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 10. In the unlikely event that the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will be forced to cancel the camp. If this happens, students will receive a full refund within 5 working days, with the exception of any transfer fees that may apply.
We want to ensure that all students have an optimal experience in our camps, and this is one of the commitments we make to guarantee the quality of our camps.
For children (age 12-14)
You can book as many camps as you want.

As explained above, please note that our camps require each group to have at least 5 participants and no more than 10. In the event that for any reason there are not enough students to reach the minimum number of participants, the camp will be cancelled. If this is the case, students will receive a full refund within 5 working days, with the exception of any transfer fees that may apply.

What is the pricing for each session of the camp?
€650 (€18/hour). No registration fee or class material is required. There are no extra costs.
Booking conditions: minimum 5 participants per group, maximum 10. Camps will be cancelled if for any unspecified reason there are less than 5 participants. The full amount will be refunded within 5 working days (except transfer fees, if applicable).
There is a special discount of 25% if more than 2 camps are booked.

Frequently, we encounter this query as siblings occasionally express interest in attending classes together. The answer is that they are indeed eligible for a 50% discount.
The sole prerequisites are as follows: possessing an equivalent proficiency level in Spanish and the capability to connect with the tutor from a shared location. This arrangement will be considered as a single participant.
